This is the pilot episode for a TV series called Mondo Loco, which explores famous film and TV locations giving them a bit of context.  It's fun and not too historical and is only 15 minutes so deserves a watch...

There is something magical about finding a film location - it blurs the lines between reality and fiction and allows you to share a temporal and geographic space with a fictional character, thinking about their motives and point-of-view. It also teaches you about set discipline and how filmmakers use space in order to create meaning... plus it's fun.
